Everyone at the VA knows CPRS sucks. I assume there is only one version shared between every hospital. What are your secrets to make it easier?

CPRS is the best system to gather data, hands down. The graphing function where you can find vitals, labs trends, and graph it against every med they’ve taken inpatient and outpatient is great. Most vets have much more centralized care than non VA folks so you can find their PCP notes, past admissions, etc… better.

Just say "labs reviewed in CPRS" or similar, or address anything important in the plan. Anyone who wants to know can just go through the labs themselves. However, there is no way to find out what meds someone was on on any given day, so always put the day's med list in the note (templates > clinical data > meds > current inpatient meds).

cPRS lets talk about it Does anybody else find CPRS extremely frustrating and non user friendly? I love taking care of my patients but I know that I could provide better and faster care if CPRS was replaced with something better and actually searchable.

In cprs when a note is signed it cannot be edited, so the attending would have to type in the correction into the addendum but you cannot change the original text.

However ive never been able to do this ion CPRS, i cant figure out how to write a separate handoff than the one the general team uses. I know its possible because a prior attending was the one who gave me the idea, but i have no clue how to do it. Anyone know how?
