When you go to the tile store, bring accurate measurements for the area over the stove. The tile store’s head salesperson or manager will be able to help you choose the right size glass mosaic, and then will suggest what size subway will look the best with the mosaic.
We had our shower wall grouted and some tiles are visibly not flush. The contractor of course is saying it is the tiles fault. The tiles are 3x12 porcelin rectified and he is saying because the grout it cant be flush. I want to know if you had 3x12 subway, how wide is your grout lines?
We are seriously considering this 3x12" bevelled subway (polished) in cream. I really like it but I'm having trouble determining if the bevel is going to be too much once it's all installed. I'll probably mock it up on cardboard to see how it will look when properly laid out. Anyone else out there go with a similar tile?

That would look perfect except I doubt I can pull off the grout job with the wavy nature of the edges. Should I pop another 1 16" spacer in there and end up with a variable 1 8" grout line?

When deciding on size of subway tile, the best thing to keep in mind is the smaller the tile the more grout lines you will have which always change the look (and busyness) of a backsplash. If you want a more clean fluid look, opt for larger longer tiles. Hope this helps. Good luck from Montreal!
