What is the difference between & and & for & (ampersand)? What should be used with UTF 8?
In HTML5, they are equivalent in that example. Traditionally, in HTML, only & was correct — but as with so many things, web developers blithely ignored this inconvenient rule and wrote bare ampersands everywhere. For their part, browsers just "did the right thing" and interpreted these ampersands as ampersands. HTML5 standardized this behavior, so now & is allowed by itself as long as ...
What is & used for Asked 13 years, 11 months ago Modified 2 years, 6 months ago Viewed 1.1m times
Encoding & as & under all circumstances, for me, is an easier rule to live by, reducing the likelihood of errors and failures. pare the following: which is easier? Which is easier to bugger up? Methodology 1 Write some content which includes ampersand characters. Encode them all. Methodology 2 (with a grain of salt, please ;) )
How do I escape this ampersand in the source XML? I tried &, but this is decoded as the actual ampersand character (&), which is invalid in HTML. So I want to escape it in such a way that it will be rendered as & in the web page that uses the XML output.
& is the proper way to escape the ampersand in an HTML context...where is your source coming from? and what's the destination? It may be better to do this server side for example.
I know about Html Entity but I was trying to find who does the conversion Browsers ?
15 why should I use & instead of & when writing HTML for my site? Where can I find a list of other symbols that I should be encoding? (the bar too, right?) What problems could I have if I paste the symbol right as it is into the ?
I have to display this exact string in HTML: ;amp& When I try it always changes to "&". How to fix that?
What does "&Amp;" mean signify? Could just about salvage the question and get it above character minimum limits!
Anyone else unable to login after the aidvantage website upgrade? It keeps telling me they can't find my userid and password combo in their systems, but when I try to reset it, I never receive an email with a reset link. Not sure what to do.
Anyone having trouble logging into aidvantage? I feel like Im in the twilight zone right now. I have aidvantage and ever since payments restarted I cant log into my account at all. I had access all the way up until my SAVE plan was approved.
Password managers are pulling studentaid.gov logins over aidvantage logins because of the url change (I think it is because of the url structure ending in the same thing). I only noticed because my username for studentaid ends with @gmail while my aidvantage login doesn't.
Anyone else having issues signing in to your aidvantage account? Haven’t seen anything about login issues from Aidvantage, so wondering if it’s a me issue.
Tried logging in through Aidvantage and got in without issue. I'm pretty irritated that: (1) there was no explicit follow up from Aidvantage (which was promised) with account login details, and (2) that when trying to login on the Navient site there was no message to the effect of, "this account has been transferred to Aidvantage".
I was able to login yesterday via the new URL around mid day, but my password manager kept pulling my password for studentaid.gov instead of my login for Aidvantage (even after updating the url in my manager).
I can’t get into my aidvantage account and the site doesn’t recognize e. Anyone else have this happen? So it’s been a long while since I’ve lost logged into my account. I have been trying to get on their income driven payment plan for a few weeks since I lost my job. Long story short I can’t log in.
This morning I wake up to an email from Aidvantage (actual email says it is from Aidvantage's customer service) saying I have a payment of $956.60 due today. It has their correct number and address listed in the email and all links go to their actual site, so it feels like a legit email and not phishing.
Anybody else still having login issues? I know my username and password are correct but now it does not recognize the device even though it’s the only device I’ve ever used for paying my loans. I enter in my SSN and DOB and they claim it doesn’t match their records which is impossible. Anybody else having similar issues?
My husband hasn't been able to login for days now. We even changed his password and it still won't work. Seems to be a bigger issue than an upgrade.
