I emailed Bose support two questions: what the difference was between the GS and non GS speakers (other than size and color), and what improvements were made between the original 321 and the Series II 321.
By about 1980 I was out of the high end home audio hobby and when I came back for a short while in the mid '90s Bose seemed to have lost a lot of credibility with audiophiles, especially with the numerous versions of the "cubes" and Bose' take on the "subwoofer". What happened to Bose?
Which subwoofer is better? Bose Acoustimass 10 Series V or Bose Acoustimass 15 Series?
I was thinking if I kept the bose acoustimass bass module for the low frequencies, and as power protection against over driving the satellite speakers, I could connect some better small cube shelf etc. type speakers to the bose acoustimass bass module. As @eljaycanuck notes there is heavy equalization in that thing.
Does anyone know the frequency range of the Bose cube speakers, or have any technical specs on them. I've read the numerous bad reviews on these speakers...
Audio forums hate on Bose and their stuff is a bit overpriced sometimes, but they generally provide good real world performance and a reliable product. I'm sure it works fine.
I got the Bose Lifestyle 525 Series III System that I have to say I was pretty impressed with 1) How simple it was to set up 2) The basic sound quality from this little tiny speakers 3) The back lit remote control.
The Bose Soundbars are really good. If you have the walls, I think MUCH better than the GS2. While the gs2 opens things up a bit as far as a sound field, the SR1 with walls can give you a real sense of surround sound, and for that 'I' think it is worth the more expensive price.
The Bose website is unclear, saying "woofers" plural, and mentioning twiddlers and full range drivers separately, but of course they are the same. But as to the Bose box saying "5 way speaker", I doubt it...
