I usually run the TS types (very low gain, high volume) into the OCD, which is usually set for moderate gain (12 2:00). When I kick the TS types on, it pushes the OCD into a thicker, more saturated tone that is just huge with incredible sustain.

I just purchased Fuller’s latest version of the OCD (V2.01) directly from Fulltone and it’s by far my favorite version yet! There’s less compression and more clarity headroom making this version even more versatile IMO.

They sound good stacked together with different EQ settings, using the OCD v2.01 in HP for a brighter but less distorted boost into the OCD Ge v1.01 set for a lot more gain with its switch in LP.

I was just comparing the OCD and Plimsoul last night with regard to how well they clean up with the guitar's volume dial. The OCD cleans up significantly better than the Plimsoul, although the Plimsoul is very good in this respect.

I've been pursuing the used market for a FT OCD pedal, and weighing the benefit of paying a bit more for version 4 vs. a good condition version 3... What do you guys think?

For my purpose and my settings, the most suitable Boss equivalent is the MD 2. The MD 2's distortion range goes far beyond the OCD, though, so you wouldn't set the controls to the same positions and expect to get the same sounds; the Boss would need everything to be set lower.

I'm looking at buying an OCD, and I'm wondering what the differences are between the versions. I've heard numerous people say that v2 is easily the best one, but I'm curious to know from people who have played them.

I wanted a pedal for thick, smooth, singing solo sounds, and the OCD, at least to me, was way better for huge riffs. I can see fans of classic rock like AC DC and the like being into the OCD.
