Having reluctantly sold my Nikon gear to get a small rf rig for widesand normals, I found a real bargain F2AS. Because the DP 12 meterdoesn't work, and because it was in the sale, I got it for less thanthe cost of a Sekonic L308B. I bought a lens to go with it, of course,but I just want the one.....
Regarding wide zooms, Nikon has none in Z mount like the older AF S 17 35 2.8 or AF S 16 35 4. Except for the Nikon Tamron 17 28, which has a rather restricted range, there are no zooms for those who want to go wider than 24mm, but don't need or want the super wide 14mm zooms.
Don't forget a good tripod. The FM2 is a very nice camera. It and two F models are my only Nikon film cameras, and all have served me very well. The smaller size and built in meter of the FM2 are convenient. Are these "the best" lenses? Others may disagree, however, these have given me trooper service for almost thirty years.

Michael; I would say the best Nikon 35MM is the F1.4 AIS. The contrast and sharpness can't be beat. Bar none! I took that lens out recently after it spending some time tucked away. I looked at the slides with a Schneider loupe. This lens will for sure go back into my photo bag to team up with a 24MM F2.8 AIS. The F1.4 is just too good a lens ...

And since the D70s has already been discontinued, there will probably never be any firmware upgrade for it. Keep in mind that the D70s was not exactly a new camera when it was introduced. It is almost identical to the original D70 such that pretty much all fixes were already ironed out in the D70 firmware upgrades.
