Rover V8 Drag Racing. We talked about running some sort of Rover V8 drag series years ago similar to the old RV8 challenge, Any thoughts or interests?
how many different types of main bearings do they do for the rover v8? the first set i got hadnt got any thrust bearings on the the centre bearing and the second set i have got had thrust bearings on the centre but top and bottom my engine just has the 1 half (block side) that has thrusts on and the number 3 cap has the same bearings as the other 4 i thought the lower half of the thrust might ...
Tony, that piston i gave you is a ofrged cosworth one, all cossie pistons have part numbers (i phoned them) so compare the pistons on the rovertec with the one i gave you. If they're mahle ones used on the YB then i think they mahle on them. If in doubt pop one out and have a look see! V8'less but a fountain of dorky knowledge ref v8's!
V8 builds on a student build are fun aint they?! My engine was a rebuild from the ground up tho, but it went into a vehicle with slightly more underbonnet space (see the V8 defender thread).
Thats unusual ...the 24G is what they call a DETOX engine with SU's fitted to the landrover 100 and should have 8.13:1 CR ...thats what my engine started life as ...

Mmmm, Practical Performance Car magazine are putting a Ford V8 in a Transit (in the front) so I don't see why a Rover V8 couldn't be made to fit. To create extra space they've used a Transit Diesel front panel.
