Volvo's are brilliant at reaching multiple hundreds of thousands of miles, they're reasonably reliable but also very durable, repairable and with good parts availability.
Volvo T8 (Plug in Hybrid) reliability Does anyone here have a T8 engine with a good enough amount of mileage to vouch for their reliability? I want a Volvo XC60 T8 because their non plug in hybrids have pretty rough gas mileage. I've seen an article that said specifically that the XC60 T8 has awful reliability.
Volvo makes the best seats ever installed in a car. And the crash safety is not exaggerated... I'm pretty sure this generation of XC90 is currently at the top of the list in the insurance industry's primary safety metric, deaths per 10,000,000 vehicle miles. Volvo's stated design goal with this XC90 was that there be 0 accident deaths in one.

Future depreciation on cpo warranty xc90s appears to be massive. Out of warranty cars have a ~$15 25k advantage for only being 2 3 years older. Are the 2016 2018 xc90's really that unreliable and expensive to maintain? Are they going to cost $5 8k to keep on the road every year outside warranty? It depends on your use. Preventive maintenance becomes vital, and all of us Volvo enthusiasts don't get out of our Volvos unless there's a major event (AKA some you know what hit us on the road), in that case, I'm pretty confident a significant majority of us would jump straight into another Volvo. For reference, I own a 2016 S60 T5 premier.
Just purchased a licence and VOE adapter to test out some configurations for my car. Wondering if anyone got some experience or recommendations? For those who don't know: OrBit is a 3rd party program for newer volvos, that allows you to configure almost every car settings and behavior. Also has basic service and maintenance functions.
Volvo's had some lemon issues with the electrical systems in their SPA cars. From what I've gathered that's where the poor rating comes from. The 2024 models also introduced a new infotainment and new computer so they've had some issues with that. The mechanicals are fairly bomb proof so you won't really have to worry about that.
