Since the babes and nursing infants praise God in Psalm 8, Jesus identified Himself as God. In this, Jesus also identified the indignant scribes and teachers as the enemy and avenger described in this psalm.

Psalm 8:2 Meaning Children and infants praise you. They praise you because of your enemies. And this stops your enemies, who try to get even. This verse is striking because it shows how God displays victory. The Lord does not always silence His enemies through obvious strength. Sometimes He uses what the world calls weak.
Jesus references Psalm 8:2 when he comes into Jerusalem and the children are singing to him. The Pharisees tell Jesus that it’s not right for the children to be calling him the Son of David – the coming king.
This psalm is a solemn meditation on, and admiration of, the glory and greatness of God, of which we are all concerned to think highly and honourably. It begins and ends with the same acknowledgment of the transcendent excellency of God's name.
But Hebrews 2:9 says, “we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God, he might taste death for everyone.”
Psalm 8 does something astonishing: it moves from human insignificance to human dignity, and it does so by pointing us—ultimately—to Jesus Christ.
In verse 2, we read, "From the mouths of children and infants You have ordained praise on account of Your adversaries, to silence the enemy and avenger." This teaches us that God often uses the humble and seemingly insignificant to accomplish His purposes.
